Challenge

What do you do with a building due to be redeveloped in 3 years time? 33 Cavendish Square towers over Oxford Street with views of most of central London, and sits at the heart of the new vision for Oxford Street. However its redevelopment won’t take place for a number years.

What can be done to take advantage of this interim period?

Solution

Able designed a temporary, publicly accessible viewing platform and hospitality space cantilevered 80 metres above the site. Constructed from an Alimack hoist and fully demountable, the structure offers unprecedented views across central London, a glazed floor revealing Oxford Circus below, and a 360-degree open-air viewing terrace.
